Siri, the popular voice-based virtual assistant present on all Apple phones help you out with an array of tasks. However, with a recent development and a merger with the popular virtual money transfer platform, PayPal, you will now be able to transfer money by just using your voice.
“Sending and receiving money from friends and family has long been one of the most popular activities on PayPal. In fact, last year we did 41 billion dollars in peer-to-peer (P2P) volume across PayPal, Venmo and Xoom. “And, with the holidays around the corner, PayPal predicts more than 17 million P2P transactions in the month of December alone. We are excited to provide this integration for our consumers in 30 countries, and in a variety of languages. We hope you’re as excited as we are about making sending and receiving money even easier. “ – Meron Colbeci
The countries which can avail this feature are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and United State of America.
However, this feature can have a downside since Siri doesn’t distinguish between voices very clearly. The only criterion is that you have to unlock your phone to use this feature which makes it way more unreliable as compared to transferring money using passwords or a pin.
