Reliance Jio since its announcement has created great hype. The preview offer will be open from 5th September and will provide free data to all users till 31st December, 2016. The Jio services cover free voice calls and do not impose any roaming charges. The service focuses mainly on data pricing at cheap rates of Rs 50 per GB, which is the lowest in the country. Jio is also looking to offer handsets which will be equipped with all apps and services and be priced at INR 2,999.
However are six things you need to know about Jio:
1. Welcome offer
This offer has been spoken about briefly in the introduction. Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance telecommunication, has announced that people who buy the sim from 5th September to 31st December can avail the Welcome offer which is suite of Jio’s amazing apps and free voice calling and unlimited data. This offer is to encourage people to buy the sim and to improve network and offerings by Reliance based on customer feedback.
2. Tariff plans
Reliance with the announcement of Jio has managed to introduce some competitive tariff plans. Ambani has claimed that users need to pay for only one service with includes data and voice calling. The data packs start at 5p/mb or INR50/GB for 4G data which is claimed to be the cheapest in the world. Jio also offers 10 plans prices between INR150/month to INR5000/month. Also, most plans come with data usage on JioNet Wi-Fi hotspots which Reliance is currently working on.

3. They are open to partnering with digital entrepreneurs
Jio, earlier denoted as ISBL, is looking to create a revolution in India with the offerings they are providing. Whats more; they are also looking to build strategic partnerships with the young, talented digital entrepreneurs in the country. 4. Target audience is the youth
The extensive student plans Jio is offering clearly states that students are the main target market Reliance is trying to tap through their Jio offerings. The special offer for students states that users with valid student ID cards will get 25 percent extra data on every tariff plan. This scheme will definitely woo the youth as the prices are already low and a scheme which offers such good discount offers is definitely going to be a winner.

5. Ready for beyond 4G
Currently, reliance Jio offers super affordable data plans at INR50/GB at 4G speed. But, what is more enticing is that the Jio sim is fully equipped for 5G and 6G speeds as well which means the sim needs no upgradation later. Also, customers can avail a downloading speed of 135 MBPS on Jio network.
6. The app ecosystem
Along with cheap data services, the Jio Infocomm also looks to create more benefits for users through the various apps they are creating. A large amount of content like movies, television shows, magazines, video-calling, voice-calling, file-sharing will be free for every Jio user even on the INR2,999 hanset. Every basic smartphone user can avail these apps at no cost for a year. Some apps already announced are JioCinema, JioBeats, JioChat, JioWallet etc.
